“God forbid that I should go to a heaven
where there are no horses.”
(R. B. Cunninghame-Graham)
Born in 2005
Holstein Stamm 318 / d 2
The family of VALISKA J is a very old one, dating back to 1776: it is Stamm 318 / d2, one of the most important and prestigious Holstein families.
But the brood mare RUTH by Harras, in 1962, was the most recent descendant in the Bernhard Family at Poppelhof
in Kollmar – Holstein.
With RAMIRO, RUTH produced her only brood mare which was to continue this important strain, the bay GOLDA, born in 1970, which was responsible for carrying on this dynasty in the stables of Hobe Bernhard in Holstein.
GOLDA was a State Premium mare at the age of three, but she also participated successfully in show-jumping in class M before becoming a brood mare.
GOLDA produced several offspring that distinguished themselves in sport and in breeding, but the most important of her daughters was OPTION by Lord, who was particularly fertile.
One of her daughters, VALESKA IV by Fernando, became the dam of three stallions, one of the most important being COROFINO I by Corrado. But above all OPTION produced the extraordinary CORIANO by Corrado I, runner-up champion at 6 years of age, winner at CSIO and sire of excellent winners, now one of the sires most appreciated and used in Europe.
He stood first at Zangersheide and is now in Germany again at the Verband der Zuchter des Holsteiner at Elmshorn.
In 1988 OPTION produced a bay named NIKITA VII by LIBERTINOI; this uterine sister of CORIANO and VALESKA IV was the dam of VALISKA J.
The sire of VALISKA J, CORRADO I, an international winner, won various World Cup competitions with Franke Sloothaak and was successful in the most important international events in the Nineties.
CORRADO I is considered the most important son of Cor de la Bryere; he has also brought in the highest winnings during his exceptional career in sport.
His offspring are excellent jumpers and are highly sought-after. As a stud he has had excellent results and his production is very much in demand, reaching very high prices.
He is certainly one of the most appreciated stallions in Germany and has sired about fifteen approved stallions, many of which are international show-jumpers, such as Coriano, Corofino I and II, Coronado, Clinton and Indorado, to mention just a few. Other sons that have excelled in sport are Coco, Corsola, Dobel’s Calmaro, Carlo, Carrera and Cabrio
VALISKA J is a beautiful and elegant young filly, with a solid compact structure, she has a muscular posterior and good driving force, denoting aptitude for sport.
