Stamm 104 a
This young brood mare comes from a very important maternal line, “ Stamm 104 a ”. Also belonging to this bloodline are the excellent stallions Carneval, Capitano, Corland, Caretano Z, Contendro I and II to mention a few.
S - CALIDA is the heir of Fritz Thiedermann’s stupendous brood mare “RETINA”, famous among other things for the fastest final at the Hamburg Derby in 1959.
The dam of S - CALIDA, named “Netina”, is the daughter of Folia II (by Joost), a direct descendant of the great exceptional grey “RETINA”; she was also an excellent brood mare, being the dam of “Capitano”.
That excellent stallion in turn sired the mythical “Capitol I”.
“Stamm 104 a” is one of the best maternal lines, the oldest and most sought-after in the Holstein Stud Book.
Even long before the war the breeding of this line was focussed on performance. Only those who distinguished themselves in sport were put to stud. So, for example, the brood mare “Bianca”, a full sister of the grand-dam of Capitano, “Claerchen”, won the Aachen Grand Prix in 1934.
No less interesting is the sire of “Netina”, “Acord II”, recognised as one of the most influential sires in sport, and still one of the leading stallions in Germany today. “Acord II” won his 100-day test with a score of 148.47 points in show-jumping and 138.26 in dressage.
The sire of S - CALIDA is “Calido I ”, one of the most important sons of the legendary Holsteiner ancestor “Cantus”.
One of the most appreciated and successful stallions for his progeny, he has already sired 19 approved stallions and 21 award-winning brood mares.
“Calido I” took the 100-day test coming 1st out of 54 and obtaining a jump score never achieved before: 10 in free jumping and 10 under saddle!
S - CALIDA produced her first foal in April 2007, a male by Quidam de Revel; the foal is Holstein registered and is owned by the Stud Farm Allevamento J, named
She is in foal again by Quidam de Revel for spring 2008.
